Niche Audience
A niche audience is where only a certain amount or a small group of people are shown their media, in different ways compared to a mass audience. For example a mass audience would be getting their media from sites such as YouTube or newspapers. An example of a niche audience would be magazines based on a certain topic.
In order to target the most appropriate audience producers research:
- Age
- Gender
- Socio-economic group
- Sexual orientation
- Consumption history or preference
