Crew Roles
The roles of the crew will depend on what the story will be about and what it is, once this is decided it will be easier to decide what the roles will be. The roles of making these short trailers will be:
- Location Manager - They are responsible for choosing where the location of filming will be held in, they normally have talks with the director and producer to tell them where the location for filming is and if it is the perfect location that they want. (Alan Sill)
- Director - They are responsible for making the whole production, and also transforming the script into an actual movie. They are ultimately responsible for a film's artistic and commercial success or failure, whoever it is are also needed for the script writing in the beginning stages of the production to lay out what the film's story will be like. (Connor Crampton)
- Camera operator - They use the camera at the direction of the director, producer and the lead of photography, they capture the scenes or video that is needed for the project. Generally a director of photography or cinematographer don't operate the camera themselves but sometimes the roles are combined. (Luke Taylor)
- Editor - They are one of the most important parts of any video production, and work very closely with the director to ensure that the story flows 'effortlessly" from the beginning to the end each shot is taken and chosen specifically for that part of the movie or any type of video production so that it makes sense. (Connor Crampton)
